4M Building Solutions Acquires Alamo Building Maintenance in San Antonio
4M’s Strategic Growth Plan and Battle-City Focus Drives Acquisition
St. Louis, Mo., May 31, 2022. 4M Building Solutions, a St. Louis-based commercial cleaning and janitorial services company, has acquired Alamo Building Maintenance in San Antonio, Texas.
Tim M. Murch, Chairman and CEO of 4M Building Solutions, announced the deal, which goes into effect Wednesday, June 1, 2022. It is 4M’s eighth major acquisition in the past four years and the first in San Antonio, where 4M has been operating since 2009. Under the ownership of Steve Perez, Alamo Building Maintenance has been in business since 2011 and is one of the most respected and premier janitorial service providers in San Antonio.
“We are honored and grateful that Steve Perez chose to sell his great company to 4M Building Solutions, with the many choices and options available to them,” Murch said. “The acquisition of the Alamo team and customers is an excellent fit for 4M with some of San Antonio’s most prestigious facilities.”
Perez said the sale is positive for his employees and customers. “I’m incredibly proud to leave the legacy and entrust my company with Tim Murch and his team at 4M Building Solutions,” said Perez. “4M is a rapidly growing industry leader that puts its Team Members first. It’s important to me that all my employees will benefit from 4M’s many incentives, benefits, and opportunities for growth and development.”
“Likewise, my customers will be in great hands with 4M as their trusted advisor and partner. 4M is respected industry-wide for its professionalism, unique proprietary systems and processes, innovative solutions, and industry-leading safety program,” Perez added.
Murch said shared business approaches reinforced his interest in Alamo. “We have common cultures of integrity and provide consistently excellent service with leading-edge, innovative solutions to create value for our Team Members and customers. We are very excited for the outstanding Alamo Team Members to join our 4M Exceptional Family and Team,” said Murch.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
4M Building Solutions, which operates in 14 Midwest, Southeast, and Northeast states, entered the San Antonio market in 2009. It is one of a handful of 4M’s designated battle cities: high-growth- potential markets where the company is already operating and targeting prospective accounts.
Organic growth in San Antonio led to the company’s current workforce of 300 Team Members, who provide cleaning, janitorial, and disinfection services to more than 65 facilities. Adding in the Alamo acquisition and prospects in the two companies’ respective sales pipelines, those numbers are expected to increase to more than 340 Team Members servicing 75 facilities by year-end. That business book includes San Antonio’s largest call centers, headquarters, and commercial properties.
The battle city focus is intended to guide 4M’s companywide Mars-Shot goal of $150 million in annual revenue by 2025. That represents a 10-year, $100 million increase in annual revenue since establishing a Moonshot goal in 2015.
